The Indian Super League 2026-27 kicks off on October 10, 2026, with Bengaluru FC hosting Sporting Club Delhi at the Kanteerava Stadium. Thirteen clubs return to a full home-and-away format, with the first phase running until January 17, 2027 and the playoffs to follow.
East Bengal FC defend their maiden title, Churchill Brothers enter the field, and the league adopts a club-led commercial model. This guide covers the ISL 2026-27 schedule, teams, squads, venues, live streaming and winners list.
Indian Super League 2026-27 Overview: A League Reset
This is the 13th season of the ISL, and it feels like a fresh start. Last season was a shortened, single-leg affair that began in February 2026 and produced 91 matches with no playoffs.
The 2026-27 edition brings back the traditional double round-robin. Every club plays the other 12 sides twice, once at home and once away.
That means 24 league matches per team and 156 league fixtures in total. Including the playoffs, the organisers have put the season at 163 matches across roughly eight months.

Sporting Club Delhi, the rebranded Hyderabad FC, return for a second season in the capital.
Note for readers: some websites still list 14 clubs and Diamond Harbour FC. The AIFF confirmed a 13-club season on August 19, 2026, and the official fixture list features 13 teams.

ISL 2026-27 Broadcast and Live Streaming
The broadcast picture is the one piece still not officially confirmed. The league is moving to a club-led model, so the clubs, not the AIFF, now hold the media rights.
A request for proposals went out on July 25, 2026, with bids due in early August. Last season, FanCode held the digital rights and Sony Sports Network carried television coverage.
Recent reports from the last week point to a new set-up. Zee is said to be close to securing linear TV rights, while clubs have prioritised YouTube for digital streaming.
| Platform | Status for 2026-27 |
|---|---|
| Television | Zee reportedly close to a deal, not officially announced |
| Digital streaming | YouTube reportedly the preferred option, not officially announced |
| 2025-26 partners (for reference) | FanCode (digital), Sony Sports Network (TV) |
Until an official announcement lands, hold off on buying a subscription just for the ISL. Check the league and club social channels closer to October 10.
ISL Winners List: Every Champion Since 2014

| 2016 | ATK | Kerala Blasters |

| 2018-19 | Bengaluru FC | FC Goa |
| 2019-20 | ATK | Chennaiyin FC |
| 2020-21 | Mumbai City FC | ATK Mohun Bagan |
| 2021-22 | Hyderabad FC | Kerala Blasters |
| 2022-23 | ATK Mohun Bagan | Bengaluru FC |
| 2023-24 | Mumbai City FC | Mohun Bagan Super Giant |
| 2024-25 | Mohun Bagan Super Giant | Bengaluru FC |
| 2025-26 | East Bengal FC | Mohun Bagan Super Giant (table topper, no final) |
The Kolkata side that began as ATK and later became ATK Mohun Bagan and Mohun Bagan Super Giant leads with five titles across its identities. Chennaiyin FC and Mumbai City FC have two each.
Bengaluru FC, Hyderabad FC (now Sporting Club Delhi) and East Bengal FC have one apiece.
ISL 2026-27 Points Table
There is no live table yet because the season has not started. Every club will begin on zero points on October 10.
Last season’s table gives some context. East Bengal topped it with 26 points from 13 matches, edging Mohun Bagan on goal difference.
This season the top six after the league phase qualify for the playoffs, and the team finishing first takes the ISL Shield.
ISL 2026-27 Player Spotlight: Names to Watch
Every league has faces that define a season. These are the players likely to shape the ISL 2026-27 storylines.
- Sunil Chhetri (Bengaluru FC). The league’s all-time top scorer with 77 goals, and level with Pritam Kotal on 196 appearances. He remains Bengaluru’s leader and the benchmark every Indian striker is measured against.
- Lallianzuala Chhangte (Mohun Bagan Super Giant). One of India’s best wide players and among the biggest domestic transfers of the window. His arrival adds even more depth to an attack chasing the title back.
- Madih Talal (Chennaiyin FC). Described as the creative centrepiece of Chennaiyin’s rebuild under Clifford Miranda. The club finished 13th last season, so his impact will be closely watched.
- Jamie Maclaren (Mohun Bagan Super Giant). The Australian striker remains one of the most feared finishers in the league. He is not a new signing, but he anchors Mohun Bagan’s title push.
- Sandesh Jhingan (FC Goa). The defender is FC Goa’s captain and the source of defensive continuity under Gouramangi Singh. Goa also carry the burden of continental football this season.
- Phurba Lachenpa (East Bengal FC). The goalkeeper is among East Bengal’s headline Indian additions as they defend the crown. Alongside Dani Ramírez and Chris Ikonomidis, he is part of a squad built to go again.
AFC Champions League Two: India’s Continental Spots
Two Indian sides will carry the flag in Asia. East Bengal FC qualify as ISL champions, while FC Goa join them after winning the Super Cup in December 2025.
Juggling continental fixtures with a 24-match league season is one reason the AIFF planned around the FIFA windows.
Key Storylines to Follow in ISL 2026-27
- Can East Bengal repeat? Winning once ended a 22-year wait for a top-flight title. Backing it up in a full home-and-away season is a different test.
- Can Mohun Bagan bounce back? They finished second on goal difference last season and have strengthened again.
- Life under the club-led model. The commercial structure is new, and each club pays an annual participation fee of 1.10 crore rupees. The league’s stability depends on how it works.
- Two familiar clubs, new identities. Churchill Brothers arrive via Jamshedpur’s licence and Sporting Club Delhi continue the Hyderabad FC story.
Conclusion
The Indian Super League 2026-27 returns on October 10, 2026, with 13 clubs, a full home-and-away format and a new club-led structure. East Bengal FC defend their maiden crown, Mohun Bagan Super Giant chase redemption, and Churchill Brothers arrive as the fresh entry.
